Meet Samantha Heckman, Project Manager, and our 2021 Q2 MVP award recipient! With over 14 years of professional experience and extensive knowledge in executing large-scale projects, Samantha is known around these parts for her commitment to success and attention to detail. 1. What brought you to Greyson? Why did you want to work here?
I was unhappy with a previous position and wanted a change of atmosphere. After interviewing with several individuals at Greyson, it just felt like home.
2. What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I really enjoy that each day is different, and my day can change at the drop of a hat which keeps me on my toes.
3. Which of our core values resonates with you most and why? (Help First, Fun, Pride, Committed, Courage)
Help First and Committed resonates the most with me. I know how important the projects are to each of our clients and I really enjoy making sure I stay on top of everything and communicate effectively to ensure the project is successful and the client is happy with the outcome.
4. Who inspires you and why?
I am continuously inspired by those I meet every day. But my strongest influencers have always been my mom and my grandma! They are the strongest women I know!
5. How did #HumpDayHumor get its start?
It started with some of my colleagues and I during a weekly virtual meeting a few years ago. While waiting for everyone to join, we would share jokes to make each other laugh. So I decided to make and share a view on Wednesday morning and called it “Hump Day Humor” and everyone seemed to enjoy it, so I just kept it going. It’s been over two years now. 6. What book or movie have you recently read/seen and why would you recommend it?
The Tomorrow War. It was entertaining.
7. What do you enjoy doing most outside of the office?
I enjoy spending time with my family at the beach or relaxing in our pool.
8. If you could have dinner with anyone (past or present), who would you choose and why?
My best friend Cody. He passed away in 2007 but he had the most infectious smile and laugh. I’d give anything to spend more time with him.
9. What’s the best advice you’ve been given in your career?
Find what you’re passionate about and do it on purpose. Don’t let what others want get in your way of doing what you truly enjoy.
10. And lastly, if you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?
Time.
